FIX MEASURE 49
"Measure 37 Liquidation Act"

Dear Fellow Oregonian:

Our group requests a resounding NO on 49 - and let me tell you why.

Our group recognizes that Measure 37 needs to change. In fact we insist that changes to Measure 37 be on the upcoming February 2008 legislative agenda (keep checking our website!).

Measure 49 should be voted down not because it changes Measure 37 - rather because it destroys it. In its 24 pages of legalese, Measure 49 ensures that Measure 37 dies forever.

"Yes on 49" has already raised over $1,565,526 (8/31/07) from special interests to try and pass this repeal of Measure 37. Their advertising claims that it protects small property owners, prevents "huge housing subdivisions", and threats to water supplies. Is this what it delivers?

What Measure 49 does:
- Inside UGB; 0 buildable lots guaranteed
- Outside UGB; 1 buildable lot guaranteed; 3 maximum per application
- No additional protection for groundwater limited areas or worse
- Proliferation of lawsuits / be sued by anyone
- NO recovery of legal fees

***** ADDED SEPTEMBER 29: Our proposal for fixing Measure 49. *****

Even if you strongly believe in changing Measure 37; you must vote NO on Measure 49; a bill that is a virtual repeal of Measure 37 - and join us in calling for less extreme changes to M37.

If these claims sound shocking, check our Q & A section (Questions & Answers) section for proof of these claims - and many more contained within Measure 49!

Sincerely,

Matthew Green-Hite, CPA
